We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Computer Engineer to support and enhance a critical Supervisory Computer System. This role ensures optimal system performance, aligning technology with business objectives to maximise productivity, quality, and reliability. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Engineering, and external vendors to manage system improvements, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
Key Responsibilities System Support Manage and maintain the Control and Information Management systems.Enhance process modelling systems responsible for plant setups and adaptive performance.Diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently.Participate in planning and implementation of system upgrades to support business strategies.Develop technical specifications and upgrade strategies.Assist with system testing, troubleshooting, and transition processes.Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement Work with internal teams to identify and implement process improvements.Engage with external vendors and consultants to ensure successful system enhancements.Align system functionality with business requirements and operational performance.Safety and Environmental Performance Ensure incident reporting, investigation, and closeout.Achieve safety and environmental targets as per business plans.Engineering and Project Delivery Provide technical support to meet production and quality goals.Support the delivery of capital projects by managing technical aspects and ensuring compliance with design standards.Develop detailed specifications and scopes for system improvements.Contribute to knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams.Required Qualifications and Skills Degree in Engineering (Computer, Telecommunications, Electrical) or Computer Science. Equivalent qualifications may be considered.Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.Experience in process control computing environments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Industrial manufacturing experience.Experience with MES systems.Proficiency in:Programming: C/C++/C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Fortran.HMI/SCADA and Historian Applications.Databases and Systems Integration.Ethernet and IP Networking.PLC, DCS, RTU, and IoT systems.Hardware/OS administration (Windows, Linux, Virtualisation).Experience in process improvement and large database management.Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Project).Key competencies for this role include strong collaboration skills and the ability to adapt to change effectively. Excellent time management and prioritisation abilities are essential, along with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the technical expertise required to perform all role functions efficiently and exhibit a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
