Position Description
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated candidate for an entry level computer science analyst position in the dos Santos lab, for projects investigating the effects of women's life experiences (pregnancy, menopause, hormone therapy, infections, etc) on breast health and cancer risk. This position is ideal for a recent college graduate looking to gain research experience before transitioning to a graduate program or the biotech industry.
Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will manage and support the analysis of genomic sequencing datasets such as Cut&Run, ATAC-seq, and single cell RNAseq. They will be responsible for running and building analytical pipelines, ensuring proper data storage and backup, and supporting computational analysis of other lab members and collaborators. The candidate will be required to be diligent in finding technical solutions and in keeping rigorous and reproducible records of processes and datasets.
Position Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, statistics, computer science, physics, mathematics, or biology, or related fields, and at least 6 months working with bioinformatics problems.
EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate for this role must possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaborative skills. Candidates should be familiar with bioinformatics, computational science, statistics and/or mathematics. Experience with R scripts, Python, and other command-line interfaces are encouraged.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $56,800 – $67,000. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
