The Plastic Technician will provide specialist expertise to the plant in the area of plastic welding and fibre glassing, as well as providing trade support for the maintenance, service and repair of fixed plant and equipment in accordance with standards and procedures at the TiO2 refinery.
Main duties are below:
Fabrication and repair of FRP piping and Vessels to site standards using various layup techniques and different resins specific to process conditions.Site measure, fabricate and install various types of plastic process pipework including PVC, Polypropylene and ABS.Fabrication of sheet components using FRP and various types of Plastics.Strict adherence to Site Pipe specs and following construction procedures.Performing maintenance activities, covering; installation, maintenance and repair of plant and equipment, as required across site.Completing daily / weekly and shutdown maintenance of plant and equipment.Utilise SAP for booking of parts and daily time keeping.About you To be successful in your application you will ideally need to possess:
A trade qualification in a Composites Trade would be highly regardedPast experience in plastic welding and fibre glassing preferredThe ability to work independently or as part of a cohesive, multi-trade maintenance team.Previous experience in maintaining a complex fixed plant in accordance with strict engineering and safety standards.The highest regard for safe work practices.A demonstrable passion for continuous improvement would be highly desirable.What's next?
