We are a major player in the Life & Health reinsurance market in Australia and New Zealand.
We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Life & Health subsidiary in Sydney which plays a major part in the success of Hannover Re globally.
We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join our team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
The role reports directly to our Chief Risk and Compliance Officer.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for the management of the Company's Compliance Program, including improvement, monitoring and reporting.
Your day may look a little like:Constantly reviewing and updating Company compliance obligationsMaintaining documentation of appropriate compliance measuresMonitoring and reporting of compliance measuresUndertaking regular reviews of the Compliance FrameworkProviding advice to the Board Risk Committee, Executive and Senior Management on compliance issuesMaintaining the Compliance RegisterAssisting with the development of training in relation to compliance issuesSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseYou will need to have:Advanced level Excel skillsUndergraduate degree in arts, science or law is preferredExperience in legal and compliance roles in financial servicesTechnical knowledgeStatutory knowledgePeople and relationship management skillsStrategic thinking capabilitiesAbility to liaise at Board and senior levelExcellent organisation, attention to detail and ability to prioritise effectivelyClear and effective communication, both written and verbalStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to work with minimal supervision and as part of a teamIt is a requirement that all applicants have unlimited rights to work in Australia.
