If so, consider applying for a role as Compliance Officer at the Electoral Commission of South Australia (ECSA).
The Compliance Officer contributes to the implementation of strategies, policies and program functions to ensure participant compliance with relevant legislation administered by ECSA.
Reporting to the Manager Compliance, key responsibilities will include:
Reviewing disclosures and associated documents lodged by participants and assessing the completeness of information provided against legislative criteria.
Monitoring participant compliance with Part 13A of the Electoral Act 1985 by following up on late and incomplete lodgements, reporting on compliance, making recommendations for enforcement action and carrying out compliance enforcement action as required.
Assisting with stakeholder education and engagement in relation to funding and disclosure issues generally, including organising stakeholder briefing sessions, collating and distributing educational material, and contributing as required to news articles, publications and information circulars to inform and educate stakeholders.
Administering registration matters in accordance with best electoral practice, including maintaining the Register of Political Parties according to legislative requirements.
Assessing applications for party registration against legislative requirements.
Processing Annual Political Party Returns to ensure continuing eligibility and monitoring eligibility of party status on an ongoing basis.
To be successful in this role, applicants will have experience in a regulatory or compliance field, an ability to learn and apply legislation and policy requirements and have a professional manner with the ability to maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
Special Conditions
This vacancy is offered on a temporary term basis up to 3 October 2025.
In order not to compromise the strict neutrality of the Commission, no person who is active in political affairs or intends to continue this activity may be an employee.
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the Commission finds satisfactory.
Extensive out of normal working hours duty may be required during the period of an election.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Remuneration
ASO4 - $76,561 to $80,256 per annum
