Aboriginal applicants will be granted priority consideration for this vacancy.Primary Objective: Support the effective use of electronic monitoring equipment and undertake surveillance checks on offenders subject to community-based orders.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct electronic surveillance and compliance checks of non-custodial offenders.Advise offenders of the conditions of their orders and the consequences of non-compliance.Install and retrieve electronic monitoring equipment, including maintenance and reporting faults.Administer and supervise tests for alcohol and drugs in accordance with agency policy.Report any failures of compliance and draft breach orders as directed.Maintain records and prepare reports relevant to the management of community-based offenders.Monitor and manage a caseload of low-risk offenders under supervision.Selection Criteria:Essential:Sound written and verbal communication skills.Ability to interact effectively with diverse cultures, especially Aboriginal communities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.Understanding of technologies relevant to electronic monitoring.Desirable:Previous experience in Community Corrections or knowledge of the Northern Territory criminal justice system.Further Information: Successful applicants must hold a manual Northern Territory Driver's Licence and may need to travel within regional and remote communities.
