ASQA's Integrity UnitASQA's Integrity Unit was formed in late 2023, following the Government's announcement to build on and enhance our existing capacity to prevent and detect threats to the integrity of VET, to deter and disrupt illegal behaviour and the exploitation of vulnerable students.
The Integrity Unit works in partnership with Federal, State & Territory governments, Industry, and other key training sector stakeholders.
The key duties of the position include:About the Opportunity We are seeking a Compliance and Enforcement Officer on an ongoing basis to work within the Student Assessment Validation (SAV) Team.
This team will develop and implement a policy framework to perform external targeted student assessments that will form part of regular monitoring for ASQA.
Some of the responsibilities of the Compliance and Enforcement Officer include:


supporting an ongoing program of work which monitors and targets those who engage in fraud through intentionally deceptive conduct and do not demonstrate a genuine commitment and capability to deliver quality training and assessment.
assisting in compliance and investigation activities into seriously non-compliant and allegedly fraudulent providers and persons of interest
using compliance and enforcement powers appropriate to the circumstances, and consistent with qualifications held and ASQA's regulatory approach, to gather evidence to support and inform decision making
ensuring good administrative law decision-making principles are applied, by assisting in writing quality briefs and reports, and preparation of statements of reasons to impose administrative sanctions
positively representing ASQA through day-to-day relationships with providers
ensuring effective records management is maintained and up to date in line with all the relevant requirements.

understand regulatory frameworks and the principles of effective regulation, and application of resources to manage risk and make clear, well-reasoned and timely recommendations in a fast-paced and changing environment

EligibilityUnder Section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian Citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing, to the contrary.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks including a Federal Police Check and obtain a minimum Baseline Security Clearance (if they do not already hold a clearance).
