Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services) Job summary: The Compliance Analyst at bet M plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our operations by ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, particularly in the areas of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), and Responsible Gambling.
Working closely with the Head of Compliance, you will support the ongoing monitoring, updating, and implementation of compliance programs and policies.
Your responsibilities will include performing customer due diligence, conducting sanctions and PEP screenings, managing transaction monitoring systems, and investigating suspicious activities.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, an analytical mindset, and an interest in the online wagering industry.
Flexibility to be available on weekends and out-of-hours to handle tasks is essential in this dynamic environment.
Responsibilities and Duties: AML/CTF Program Support: Assist the Head of Compliance in monitoring and updating bet M's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) Compliance Program, including related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Responsible Gambling Program Support: Assist in the oversight and enhancement of bet M's Responsible Gambling Program, ensuring all associated policies, procedures, and guidelines are current and effective.
Perform Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews and undertake customer due diligence (CDD) as required.
Sanctions and PEP Screening: Conduct screening processes for sanctions and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP).
Transaction Monitoring and Reporting: Contribute to the oversight and maintenance of bet M's transaction monitoring program, including managing responsible gambling alerts.
Respond to alerts generated by the AML/CTF transaction monitoring program and responsible gambling reports.
Prepare and maintain compliance reports, records, and documentation.
Suspicious Activity Management: Identify, investigate, and escalate suspicious activities, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions.
Submit Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) to AUSTRAC and contribute to other AUSTRAC-required reports, including the Annual Compliance Report.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure bet M meets all obligations under the AML/CTF Act, and carry out other duties as required by the bet M AML/CTF Program.
Assist in conducting internal audits to evaluate the compliance program's effectiveness and identify improvement areas.
Assist in monitoring and investigating financial crime matters as they arise within bet M.
Support responses to regulatory requests and/or complaints.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field (preferred) and 2+ years of work experience in a compliance-related field.
Good understanding of regulatory compliance, including some knowledge of AML/CTF legislation.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically and assess complex situations.
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team/remote team environment.
Computer literate with the ability to operate within a software-generated workflow environment.
Understanding of, or strong interest in, the online wagering environment.
Knowledge of financial crime typologies and investigative processes is preferred.
Some experience in performing risk assessments and enhanced customer due diligence.
Willingness to perform some duties outside of regular business hours as required.
