Position Purpose:
To undertake a variety of administration duties on behalf of the Compliance Team including document support for the City of Launceston's Plumbing Surveyors. Conduct site investigations and collect evidence as an Authorised Officer. Investigate alleged breaches against relevant building, planning, and plumbing legislation, assist with enforcement action where relevant and assist in preparation for relevant documents where required. Ensure that statutory rules, regulations, and all the City of Launceston's policies and procedures are adhered to. Provide relevant advice on behalf of Compliance Team when requested/ where relevant at the customer service counter, employees, applicants and other external parties on varying building, planning and plumbing compliance matters as per their requirements.
Accountabilities Activities/Tasks include:
Investigate compliance matters as an Authorised Officer of the CEO, including onsite visits to collect evidence.
Provide administrative support to the Compliance Unit, including document support for the City of Launceston's Plumbing Surveyors.
Generate enforcement in accordance with City of Launceston policies and procedures.
Monitor and maintain accurate records of all investigation reports, issued enforcement action, and infringement Notices.
Assist the Permit Authority and Customer Service in responding to customer enquiries.
Selection Criteria:
Excellent interpersonal skills, including high-level customer service, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Well-developed written and verbal communications skills, with an aptitude for document writing that is clear and concise.
Proficient computer skills in the Microsoft Office Suite and corporate applications.
A good knowledge of local government and the environment in which it operates.
Current drivers licence.
Qualifications and Experience:
Certificate IV in business administration, Cert IV Government (Statutory Compliance) or equivalent (or the ability to obtain).
The ability in navigating and interpreting local building, plumbing, and planning legislation.
