We have several opportunities in the CWES region covering Bathurst NSW for Complex Disability Support Workers to join the Kirinari Complex Care Team. This team works across Out of Home Care (OOHC) and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and supports people who experience challenging behaviours with a focus on trauma informed care and trauma recovery. Kirinari is a highly reputable and respected disability support service providing essential care and high-quality support to enrich the lives of our customers. Kirinari employ over 1300 staff in various regions across VIC, NSW and TAS.
About the Position The Complex Care Team provides services and supports to both OOHC / Voluntary OOHC and NDIS participants allowing a dual role across Youth and Disability Support. The Youth Worker/Disability Support Worker is responsible for developing, assisting and supporting clients in various locations such as houses, schools, hospitals, community centers and emergency accommodation on a daily basis.
This position works within Kirinari's strength-based, non-punitive, therapeutic model of care to provide safety to our clients while identifying and supporting growth needs. You will be working with a variety of different clients, of all age groups who will have complex trauma and behavioral support needs.
This position is open to applicants who are new to the industry or have experience across a range of support services including challenging behaviours and or high physical needs.
Multiple positions are available, both Part-Time Permanent and Casual with flexible start dates. About You Qualification in Community Services (Cert IV) is highly regardedStrong interest in youth work, mental health and the disability industryUnderstanding of strength based trauma informed practice frameworkUnderstanding of the NSW Child Safe StandardsPrevious experience in residential therapeutic care and complex trauma is highly regardedAbility and willingness to work shift work, regular sleepovers/active nights, weekends and public/school holidays with significant availabilityAbility to obtain the NDIS Workers Screen Check prior to commencementAbility to obtain a paid NSW Working with Children Check prior to commencementComplete a National Criminal History Check (paid by Kirinari)Ability to use computers and learn a variety of software/programsSmart PhoneCurrent Driver's LicenceCome Join Us!
