How you will create an impact The Financial Lines Claims team has five locations across the Pacific including Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Perth and Brisbane. Known for its technical leadership across Financial Lines and particularly in D&O, the team provides bespoke services to insureds and brokers in relation to all types of Financial Lines claims. Reporting to your teams Financial Lines Complex Team Manager, you will manage a portfolio of AIG's claims including professional indemnity, D&O and management liability claims, in accordance with AIG's Proactive Claims Management guidelines.
The purpose of the role is to manage a portfolio of complex claims including professional indemnity, D&O and management liability claims. The role involves handling claims with particular emphasis on reducing claims costs, providing exceptional customer service and understanding the financial impact of claims on the business. The successful applicant will be required to undertake coverage investigations, assess liability and quantum, negotiate early settlements and manage the reserve process.
Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:
Managing claims handling enquiries, coverage determinations, quantum analysis and legal liability assessments for complex claimsEnsuring effective vendor and litigation management on Complex claimsReporting key claims messages to the Financial Line Claims Team Manager and to internal stakeholdersAssisting in continuous improvement across the region through support for the Quality Assurance / Regional Audit processesEnsuring adherence to best practice procedures for financial lines complex claimsHandling complex claims within authority limitsWhat you'll need to succeed Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalGood presentation skills and file knowledgeAbility to manage and prioritise workload and diary management, and to work independentlyAbility to contribute effectively within a team environment when required, and with internal/external stakeholders at all levelsAbility to influence claims and non-claims stakeholders to effectively direct claims strategyWell developed knowledge in financial lines technically complex claimsPolicy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretationThorough knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for financial linesExperience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and ADR skills on higher value complex claimsExperience in effectively following up on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous file handling improvementReady to make a bigger impact?
