As an AO7 Complex Claims Advisor, you will have the opportunity to manage a portfolio of technical and complex common law personal injury claims, including sensitive claims, making a meaningful difference in the lives of Queenslanders.
Benefits & Culture: Work from home arrangements Work-life balance with flexible working arrangements Full time 38 hour work week Close to public transport Collaborative and supportive team environment The Role: The AO7 Complex Claims Advisor will be responsible; Provide high-level technical advice to Claims Officers on claims management strategies, including investigation of liability, assessment of damages, and negotiation of claim settlements.
Draft and prepare correspondence to assist in the management of legally represented claimants and represent your department during settlement conferences.
Undertake analysis of complex issues and trends related to potential claim farming and fraud, and prepare technical material concerning claims management performance.
Lead claims audits, assess whether to appoint external parties, and brief, instruct, case manage, and assess the performance of these parties.
Investigate, report, and recommend appropriate courses of action relating to claims management and prepare recommendations to achieve efficient and effective claims management.
Your Profile: Minimum of 3 years' experience in managing claims under the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002, including sensitive claims involving allegations of historical child abuse.
Solid understanding of liability and causation principles, with the ability to assess the quantum of personal injury claims and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated skill in managing claims, including negotiations, developing strategies, and identifying opportunities to settle claims.
Experience in assessing potential claim farming and fraud, and providing recommendations based on the analysis of complex issues and trends.
Experience in leading claims audits and preparing recommendations to achieve effective claims management.
