COMPLAINTS AND RESEARCH ASSISTANT JOINT INVESTIGATORY COMMITTEES DEPARTMENT OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL PoV Grade 4, $92,332 - $104,762 + 11.5% superannuationAbout the role The Complaints and Research Assistant sits within the secretariat supporting the Integrity and Oversight Committee – a committee consisting of Members drawn from both the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly.
Working under the supervision of the Senior Research Officer, you will handle complex enquiries and complaints from the public about integrity agencies overseen by the Committee, maintaining confidentiality and diplomacy on sensitive issues. You will also provide high-level research and administrative support to the Committee in order to meet regular and tight reporting deadlines.
About you To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in managing challenging complaints. You will need a high level of resilience, be a strong communicator who works well under pressure, and a collaborative team member.
You possess the capacity to quickly develop knowledge of legislation and procedures relevant to the work of the Committee and provide accurate advice to internal and external stakeholders based on this knowledge. An understanding of the parliamentary environment, its systems and the political process will be highly beneficial.
