Our Northern Region, Community Rugby League team are looking for an incredible individual to join their team as a Competitions Coordinator!
We need someone with an operational understanding of the professional sports environment not just a passion for the on-field action. To us, Rugby League is more than a game. At the QRL, you'll help unite and inspire people through lifelong engagement in Rugby League. Working from community clubs to elite level, you'll champion this remarkable game, and its impact on Queenslanders everywhere.
What you'll do on a day-to-day: Support the smooth running of competitions including structure, draws, game day operations while providing education on new ways of working. Assist in the development of all relevant competition plans (e.g. strategic, operational, facilities) ensuring alignment with QRL and national strategy. Lead, administer and facilitate the Northern Leagues MRC/Judicial and tribunal process relating to all Leagues. Providing competition logistic support for local league, promotional events, and finals series hosted in the Local League(s) area. Support the administration and application of QRL's approved positive environment program. Working collaboratively with local league stakeholders on player, coach and match official development and registered participation across the area competitions. Reviewing Regional Competitions Operations Manuals detailing Local League(s) rules and policies annually and when required ensuring compliance with QRL Rules. Liaising with relevant Government Departments and assist the Leagues in identifying grant opportunities. Ensure Leagues understand and comply with QRL License Agreements and other policy relevant to QRL partners including apparel providers. Supporting the management of the QRL age eligibility rules, including administration of Player Development Framework initiatives as they pertain to competition delivery. What you'll bring to the role: 1-2 years of experience in a similar operational role. A current driver's license and eligible to obtain a Blue Card. An Undergraduate Degree preferably in Business/Sports Administration or working towards a relevant tertiary qualification. Microsoft office suite competence, with intermediate Excel skills. Knowledge of budgeting processes, governance & working across a diverse geographic spread. Ability to build rapport and foster relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to apply a firm but consistent approach and to be authentic in dealings with stakeholders. Conflict resolution and negotiation skills. A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE This is a permanent full-time position based in Mackay and the salary for this position is $73,510 plus superannuation. QRL remunerate based on the position to ensure gender pay equity in sport. And just when you thought it couldn't get any better… you also receive five weeks of leave each year, an allocation of funds to use for professional development and other attractive benefits.
