OVERVIEW
The senior leagues and U20 competitions in Basketball NSW are within your portfolio as the BNSW Competition Coordinator. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the event's logistics, building rapport with the participating associations, and making sure everything runs according to schedules and by-laws. You will encourage and foster the growth of basketball through various competitions and initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
League coordination and administration
Manage Waratah Senior League and U20 basketball competitions.
Ensure associations meet league rules for competition entry.
Ensure participating associations complete league standards during the season, including posting game results, videos, and documentation.
Maintain timely registration of players, including eligibility, waivers, and clearances.
Manage competition paperwork and ensure accuracy of online game information.
Reschedule postponed/abandoned games and manage modification requests in coordination with other departments.
Management of Fixtures and Events
Promptly plan and release fixtures/draws and competition forms.
Manage logistics for Finals Series, State Tournaments, and League Meetings, securing venues and resources.
Responsible for booking venues and accommodations for senior tournaments, central venues, and finals.
Organise and order medals/trophies for league events.
Stakeholder Engagement
Actively engage with associations and stakeholders to strengthen relationships between Basketball NSW and the basketball community.
Serve as the point of contact for competition-related inquiries and issues (both during the week and on weekends when competitions are running), maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal departments, such as marketing and communications, to ensure effective promotion of league events and competitions.
Financial Administration
Prepare and manage invoices for senior league payments, including team nominations, game fees, host association payments and officials' payments.
Technology and Systems
Utilise competition management platforms to handle game schedules, results, and communications.
Ensure digital platforms are kept up-to-date and troubleshoot issues where necessary.
Promotion and Growth Initiatives
Support the administration and promotion of other BNSW competitions, events and other basketball growth initiatives where needed.
Contribute ideas to improve and expand competitions in NSW to further grow the sport.
