About the Job
The Competency Information Coordinator – Communications supports the operational goals of the Communications Branch by managing asset information, documentation, and systems tied to the branch's competency framework. This role involves system administration and the enhancement of documentation processes in collaboration with Communications maintenance, engineering teams, and other stakeholders. Key responsibilities include engaging with project teams to oversee the handover and management of essential documents like engineering drawings and training materials, facilitating the review of communication standards, and promoting continuous improvements within document management practices.
Additionally, the Coordinator provides technical oversight for the implementation of the Communications Competency Framework, working closely with the Engineering team to audit and validate communication documents across platforms. The role involves monitoring system compliance, publishing status reports, and ensuring system integrity. By analysing system performance and identifying improvement areas, the coordinator contributes to maintaining reliable Communications Information Management systems and assists in branch improvement initiatives to address competency gaps and future requirements. Stakeholder management is also integral to the role, ensuring effective communication, timely reporting, and alignment with branch KPIs.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Extensive experience in developing documentation to support competency frameworks and assessments for a rail operations Communications Branch, managing various Communications Information Management systems. Skilled in analysing Communications Information Management to identify improvement opportunities, implementing strategies and standards, and governing controlled documentation for the Communications Branch. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, negotiate across organizational levels, and produce clear, structured documentation; skilled in facilitating Communications Information Management systems training. Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a solid understanding of information management principles and document development. Effective organizational skills, able to work independently to meet timelines, with strong computer literacy in relevant IT systems for governance, adaptability to new technologies, and a commitment to safety and continuous development.
