Full Time Costco Position Summary Meets with current and prospective members to increase membership sign ups and warehouse sales.
Attends and participates in local community events to promote excellent community relations.
Contacts expired members to encourage membership renewals.
Gathers pricing information on manufacturers' items at competitors stores.
Job Duties/Essential Functions • Canvasses businesses in the warehouse sales area in person and by phone to promote membership and foster sales • Conducts research to identify best prospects • Calls expired members from computer list to remind about membership renewal • Follows safety, security and departmental procedures • Drives to selected stores and compares pricing on similar items • Using a predetermined weekly list, gathers pricing information while at competitor's store • Drive back to Costco store and keys pricing data gathered from competitors' stores into Costco computer • Meets with and assesses businesses to determine Costco products and services that offer benefit to the member • Assists business with merchandising ideas and special orders • Contacts business members about special promotions, new items and road shows, and to promote memberships • Meets with large businesses to discuss employee membership eligibility • Schedules and conducts on-site membership sign up events • Collects funds, keys applications, prints and delivers cards, while driving personal vehicles • Completes daily activity log and tracks sales increases, sign ups, appointments, calls and incentive programs • Prepares periodic profit and loss statements for business development and membership marketing results • Submits clear mileage records and other expense receipts for reimbursement • Promotes good community relations by attending and participating in local community events, trade shows, Chamber of Commerce meetings and local charity events • Assists Membership/Marketing Manager with formulating and carrying out marketing plan • Creates and tracks membership incentive programs • Provides prompt and courteous member service • Maintains Member Spotlight board, updating display • Responds to member concerns using problem-solving skills, tact and discretion • Assists with order pulling and ringing for volume shoppers and at membership counter as necessary • Assists with front end and other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
