About the role
We're all about helping our members make the most of their money. As a Company Secretary, Corporate Governance Specialist, you'll be a trusted advisor and business partner in relation to company secretarial and corporate governance services. You'll be part of the Company Secretariat team, focusing on governance and best practice in a highly regulated environment, ensuring that change is embedded and sustainable.
Reporting to the Head of Company Secretariat, you'll serve as a trusted advisor, providing guidance regarding good governance and best practice. This role will partner with other senior stakeholders to implement recommendations arising from any regulatory activity and work closely with the Head of Company Secretariat.
Day to day, you'll:
Lead and embed the uplift of governance frameworks, policies, practices and processes.
Provide company secretarial support and services to the subsidiary entities in the ART Group.
Perform the role of Company Secretary on ART Subsidiaries, ensuring that statutory record keeping and maintenance of all registers is kept up to date.
Assist the Company Secretariat team in maintaining robust risk management processes and controls.
Lead a culture of continuous improvement and innovation practices focusing on governance and best practice.
This role is available as a 12-month max-term / secondment opportunity to cover a period of parental leave.
About you
You'll be a great communicator with top-notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative solutions. It's quite likely you'll also be able to demonstrate the following:
Experience in a legal, governance or company secretarial function.
Strong knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards and the Corporations Act as it relates to super funds and insurance entities is desirable.
An appropriate tertiary qualification in business, law, risk or governance (desired).
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strategic working relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and good time management skills with the flexibility to rearrange priorities.
Demonstrated analytical, research and problem-solving skills including the ability to synthesise and summarise complex issues.
Integrity, professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
