The Role
As the Company Accountant you will be leading the finance team and sharing the responsibilities for the day-to-day finance and accounting needs of the business such as:
Managing the day-to-day finance and accounting activities of the organisationSupporting the reconciliation, preparation, and lodgement of monthly or quarterly business activity statements (BAS)/FBT/Payroll TaxManaging the accounts' payable function including the processing of invoices and payment of grantsManaging the accounts receivable function, including the allocation of payments, credit control of overdue payments and reconciliation of paymentProcessing payroll, other related payroll tasks and relevant HR administrative tasksReconciliation and reporting on inventory, monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets, and depreciation schedulesEnsuring accounting standards and policies are adhered to based on current Australian legislation Forecasting/Budgeting expertisePreparing the monthly accounts and supporting the Directors in preparation of Board and Management reportsFinancial analysis and reporting as required by the businessThis is a full time office based role in FootscrayBe familiar with the differences of enterprise business agreements and industry awardSkills & Experience 5+ years' experience in an accounting function in a similar sized businessBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business or CA/CPAExpert knowledge of XERO and other relevant software such as Microsoft Excel & Employment HeroAbility to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.A can-do attitudeAble to work from the office 5 days a weekHow to apply
