Aboriginal applicants will be granted priority consideration for this vacancy.Primary objectiveThe Community Transition Coordinator is responsible for assisting with a range of duties to provide an effective and efficient administrative support service to the NDIS Offender Services Team.Key duties and responsibilitiesAssist with briefings and reports, manage a shared inbox, triage referrals, and coordinate meetings with the National Disability Insurance Agency and other relevant stakeholders.Assist with data entry and analysis to inform priority referrals in line with departmental priorities.Collaborate effectively with NDIA Justice Liaison Officers and community stakeholders to support NDIS participants' transition from custody to community.Maintain and develop client records ensuring quality documentation and accurate record-keeping.Work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve shared goals.Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and organisations to ensure cultural competence.Selection CriteriaEssentialExperience in providing comprehensive administrative support and managing communication channels.Good working knowledge in delivering a well-coordinated administrative service.Sound knowledge in computer systems including word processing, spreadsheets, and records management.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.Ability to work effectively with Aboriginal people and contribute to an inclusive workplace.Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Knowledge of concepts related to working with people with physical and psychosocial disabilities.Working knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.DesirableUnderstanding of Corrections policies, procedures, and strategic direction.Further information: The Department of Corrections has a Smoke Free Policy.
