As a Community Support Worker , you will be responsible for providing face-to-face support to clients and will deliver administrative support to the General Manager - Community Services, Program Managers, and the Toowoomba office. The role is full-time and will be based at reception and includes administration, communication, outside-the-box thinking, and problem-solving skills. Key responsibilities
Be the first point of contact for the Youturn Toowoomba Office, including responding to telephone calls, walk-in enquiries, and visitors. Deliver community supports to vulnerable people within the community, including providing information, referring clients to other services, and providing material needs. Assist with the establishment and maintenance of office systems such as file management and cataloguing of resources and stationery. Perform facilities management in collaboration with the Program Manager – Community Services Toowoomba, including maintaining office/kitchen supplies, ensuring facilities are cleaned and well-equipped, and organising regular and timely maintenance and repairs. Organise booking of meeting rooms, including arrangements for catering, equipment hire, key deposits, and cleaning. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of Youturn through supportive and positive working relationships with team members, clients, and the community. Experience in and confident with providing face-to-face, client-focused service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, and the capacity to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels, including clients and stakeholders. Knowledge of general office administration and reception procedures. Strong organisational skills, the ability to successfully complete several tasks concurrently, maintain high levels of attention to detail, maintain documentation and record keeping, and meet deadlines. Ability to work with vulnerable people in a non-judgmental and inclusive manner and ability to effectively handle crisis situations. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a willingness to take direction when given. Successful applicants will also need to hold a 'C' class Open driver licence, State Working with Children Check, and hold, or be eligible to apply for, a Licensed Care Suitability Check issued by the QLD Department of Child Safety, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs.
