About the role As a community support assistant, you will be providing one-on-one support to elderly members of our community to live more fulfilling and independent lives by providing person-centered care. You will be assisting clients in their own home environment, with an excellent opportunity to build relationships working one-on-one with regular clients. You will work closely with the at-home care team to have an in-depth knowledge of clients' individual needs. These needs may include:
Personal care (dressing, assist in drying and transfers) Transportation to and from appointments Use of aids and personal equipment About you We are looking for a casual Community Support Assistant to join our Homecare team. You will be responsible for providing high-quality support to our valued VMCH residents. You will assist them with daily living activities, such as personal care, domestic tasks, and social and recreational activities. You will also promote their health and wellbeing, respect their choices and preferences, and foster positive relationships with them and their families.
What you'll need to succeed: Current First Aid Certificate and CPR Current Victorian Driver's License and reliable vehicle Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Home and Community Care or equivalent Current Police Check Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience in providing personal care, domestic assistance, and social support to older people in a community setting Commitment to our mission, vision, and values of VMCH Respect for diversity and cultural sensitivity Why VMCH?
