Increase nutrition awareness and understanding in the communities Ramingining, Galiwin'ku, Milingimbi, Gapuwiyak, and Minjilang through impactful health promotion and primary prevention programs. Please note: This position requires the employee to live in Galiwin'ku but also provide services to Ramingining, Gapuwiyak, Milingimbi and Minjilang on a regular basis. Travel may also be required at times to other stores managed by ALPA in the Northern Territory and Far North Queensland. Required travel is up to 12 days per month from Galiwin'ku. Travel is via a small, chartered plane.
What You'll Do
Engage with community leaders and health services to understand nutrition needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate nutrition programs. Build nutrition capacity across ALPA Services and communities in a culturally responsive manner. Support the implementation of the ALPA Nutrition Policy in member and managed stores. Develop and supervise nutrition placements. Report on project progress and present to relevant committees and management. Produce reports and monitor key performance indicators for the ALPA Health and Nutrition Strategy. About You
Degree in nutrition and dietetics, eligible for Accredited Practicing Dietitian status. Understanding of social determinants of health affecting Aboriginal communities. Ability to work collaboratively and resolve conflicts. Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Effective interpersonal and communication skills adaptable to diverse needs. Capacity to live and work in a remote community. NT driver's license or ability to obtain one. Who we are and what we do
