We have an exciting opportunity for a friendly people person to join our dynamic neighbourhood centre team.
This diverse role will suit someone who likes variety and making a difference with others in a warm welcoming environment.
What You Will Do:
Help us implement our social inclusion project.
Deliver social prescribing, social interest groups and community events designed to bring people together to tackle social isolation and loneliness.
Assist with the day to day activities of a busy community centre.
Administration, marketing, outcomes measurement & reporting.
Distribution of food support & emergency assistance to clients.
Provide backup of other centre services/programs as required.
Assist with community events & current programs i.e mental health, community gardens, disability engagement, youth sessions.
Become an effective member of a mostly volunteer team (on the job learning will be supported)
What You Will Need:
Good interpersonal skills to be effective in a small, hard working team
Qualifications or experience relevant to community services, youth work, case management or social services is desirable but not essential
High level written & verbal communication skills
Ability to use Microsoft Office suite
Ability to complete data entry relevant to our contracts
Experience working in a not for profit sector is desirable
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with vulnerable people in a professional & respectful manner
Ability to lift/move resources and complete moderately physical tasks
C class drivers licence
A working with children check (or the ability to obtain one)
A can-do attitude & a welcoming smile!
Pro-rata conditions apply, this contract runs through to June 2026.
