The City is seeking two (2) Community Services Officers to workwith internal and external stakeholders to support communityinitiatives and to progress the City's'Liveability' strategic goal and the actions in theCity's equity, diversity and inclusion plans (ReconciliationAction Plan, Disability Access and Inclusion Plan, LGBTQIA+ Plan)and the City's Homelessness Action Plan.
These positions will support theCity by:
Community Services Officer (CommunityLiaison): This position plays a crucial role in liaising with, andsupporting community services available from the City'sfacilities/assets. Examples are services providers offering supportto people experiencing homelessness and groups providing activitieswithin City owned and managed properties.
Community Services Officer (Projects andPolicy): This position supports the City's EDI advisory/workinggroups:
the Access and Inclusion Advisory Group;the Elders Advisory Group; andthe LGBTQIA+ Advisory Group.The position also progresses projects and actions in the Cityplans related to these groups.
The successful applicants will have a strong commitment toadvancing principles of equity, diversity & inclusion andhighly developed interpersonal skills including the ability tobuild and negotiate relationships with stakeholders and managestakeholders according to written agreements (e.g. grants)
