Band 6 Salary from $82,922 to $89,577 per annum, plus super The Community Safety and Wellbeing Officer role will be responsible for planning, implementing and promoting community safety and wellbeing initiatives across the City of Ballarat. Reporting to the Health and Social Planning Coordinator, you will be a key member of the Health and Social Planning team. The Community Safety and Wellbeing Officer will identify and respond to key social issues, developments and trends in the areas of community safety and social wellbeing including smoking and vaping, alcohol and drug related harm, gender-based violence and others as required. They will also work in partnership with external stakeholders to deliver community initiatives.
To be successful in this role you will have the following: Tertiary qualification in community development, criminology, health promotion, public health, social sciences or related discipline with relevant experience in a similar role. Capability in planning, implementation, evaluation and supporting the sustainability of community safety and wellbeing projects.  Experience in applying best practice prevention of health and wellbeing and community safety principles, ideally in a local government context. Expertise in the collection, analysis and interpretation of evidence-based data to identify community safety and wellbeing concerns for the community. Experience in establishing and maintaining effective partnerships to facilitate communication and collaboration in community and organisational settings.
