The Opportunity The Animal Management Unit is a critical 'essential service' of Council where you will have the opportunity to become an integral team member of a high functioning, driven team who prides itself on delivering excellent customer service and providing a safer community in which to live and work.
This role reports directly to the Coordinator Animal Management.
Our stakeholders are predominantly the general public along with internal teams such as Customer service, Amenity Protection and external organisations such as RSPCA, Police, Lost Dogs Home and a number of Veterinary Services and Rescues/Shelters.This role is a critical function of the Animal Management Unit requiring attention to detail in recording animal and owner information on Council's database and generating compliance letters.This is a rewarding role where you will be strongly supported by team members from Pound Services, Ranger Services and fellow administrative staff.Key Responsibilities Provide general administrative function and support to Animal Management including word processing, data entry, telephone enquiries, filing and photocopying.Processing and recording of Council's pet registrations.Record and register appropriate information in Council's Electronic Content Management System.Take appropriate action in response to enquiries in a timely and efficient manner having regard to Council's policies and procedures.Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in the handling of a wide range of information and projects.About you To be successful in this role you will have the following: Post-secondary qualification in administration (below diploma level) plus some experience in an administrative role.Prioritise and perform a variety of administration tasks to a high level with attention to detail.Demonstrated experience in the provision of written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.Culture and Values Our vision for our community is to be: "A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all".
