About the role The purpose of the position to provide support to better understand client experiences of care and programs provided to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander in Brisbane and Logan through the delivery of formal and informal research projects.
The role will work closely with service providers and researchers to support projects across different research projects underway at ATSICHS Brisbane.
The role requires interaction with current clients, local community who are not currently accessing services, ATSICHS staff, and collaborating research institutions.
Through this interaction, the role will involve working with researchers to conduct in-depth qualitative interviews (yarning) to understand barriers and enablers to accessing services and their experiences of care.
Duties Engage and recruit clients for research projects and evaluation activities.
Directly provide data collection for research project through client interviews, surveys, and other methods according to the research or continuous improvement requirements.
Liaison with services regarding their participation, implementation and evaluation of research projects as specified.
Contribute to individual study protocol development, grant applications and data collection.
Participate in appropriate internal and external committees, meetings and public events to promote and support relevant evaluation project initiatives and activities (where directed by project leads).
Ensure data is collected, recorded and stored according to the study protocol and data security requirements.
Contribute to the production of research publications and presentations at major national and international scientific meetings and in the local community.

Benefits Permanent full time position with starting annual salary of $72,800 (depending on qualifications and experience).
11.5 % Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay).

COVID - 19 Requirements Immunization history showing you have received two doses of a Covid 19 vaccine is encouraged.
Required Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or Community Services; completion of an associate diploma and subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or relevant education/training.
Working knowledge of health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a strong commitment to improving health and wellbeing outcomes.
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their leaders, respecting culture, values and ways of doing business.
Demonstrated links to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the designated region.
Demonstrated experience with engaging with community groups and individuals.
Skills (or willing to learn and acquire skills) in quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Demonstrated ability to take direction, determine priorities and manage workload in order to meet agreed timelines and objectives.
Demonstrated skills in effective communication – Written, verbal and interpersonal.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Demonstrated competence in use of information technology and desktop applications: Microsoft Word, Outlook (including electronic calendars), Excel, and online database systems.
National Police Check.
