Job DescriptionHammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly people living in their homes. As a pastoral care volunteer, you'll be actively involved with a local Christian church in Bathurst.
You'll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may: Support people to meet their spiritual needs.Skills required for this role: High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills.Pastoral Care training, for example, Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or attendance in HammondCare pastoral care training - Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.Starts Thursday 24th October, concludes 12th December. Volunteering alongside Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

Requirements18 years or older.National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one-hour visit between 9 am and 4 pm, Monday to Sunday. Visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
