Hove, SA 0.8 FTE position, 4 days per week Join a leading not-for-profit, local govt-owned Aged Care provider Salary sacrifice - earn up to $15,899 tax free per year!About the organisation  Set within beautiful grounds in the seaside suburb of Hove, Alwyndor delivers on-site residential living and support at home services, along with therapy and wellbeing services that empower the people in our communities to live healthy, engaged and fulfilled lives.Alwyndor's welcoming, high-quality facilities include 144 residential, dementia, respite care beds, transitional and care awaiting placement beds, together with allied health, therapy and wellness programs, and home support packages that support people in Adelaide's southern metro communities.About the opportunity  The Community Participation Assistant is responsible for a hands-on approach in the delivery of social support services and programs for older people.The role has a strong focus on wellness and reablement and requires a strengths based approach that promotes healthy and active ageing and builds upon people's skills, abilities and interests.Responsibilities include: Provide direct support and supervision to a small pool of allocated volunteers, embedding a wellness and reablement approach to services, and undertake periodic performance reviews as directed.Liaise directly with the Community Participation Coordinator regarding volunteer issues, including recruitment, induction, and training and performance management.Support, engage and be involved with group classes and social activities and outings.Assist and manage group bookings and other general administration duties.Treat all customers, both internal and external, with courtesy, empathy, understanding and equity.About you The ideal candidate will have: A tertiary qualification in Community Services and/or Community Development field (desirable but not essential) A current Australian driver's licence (essential) Experience working in the community services sector (essential) Experience coordinating, supervising and supporting volunteers (desirable) High self-motivation with the ability to establish credibility and deliver high quality outcomes for our community  Outstanding verbal and written communication skills  You must also be willing to obtain a National Police Certificate before commencing employment as well as a functional assessment.We are a family-friendly community organisation and understand the importance of work/life balance.Alwyndor is an equal opportunity employer.People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.APPLY NOW!!Please attach a combined covering letter and resume.No recruitment agencies please.
