Community Liaison Officer – Tiwi Islands Work at one of Australia's leading energy pioneers Consult with Communities on Santos' regional activities12-month assignment via Chandler Macleod, Tiwi Islands location About Santos Santos is a global energy company committed to increasingly cleaner energy and fuels production, with operations across Australia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste and North America. About the Assignment The Community Liaison Officer (CLO) will assist Santos to build a presence in the community to support and facilitate engagement on Santos' activities in the Northern Territory. This role will operate on a part-time basis (approximately 10 hours per week). Key Responsibilities Share information regarding Santos' activities to the Tiwi people and their communities. Be mobile and move across communities on the Tiwi Islands and engage with various Tiwi clans on Santos projects and activities. Foster positive relationships and work collaboratively with key external stakeholders and stakeholder groups including: residents, schools, Indigenous organisations and sporting clubs. Link and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders; and promote and maximise opportunities in the delivery of services and/or programs. Assist with small events planning, logistics and arrangements for other Santos personnel to meet on the Tiwi Islands or meet with key Tiwi Island stakeholders in alternative locations such as Darwin. Meet with Tiwi community members to assist the NT Community Team to identify, assess and monitor Barossa Aboriginal Future Fund programs. About You To be successful in this position, you will ideally demonstrate: Proven experience in advocating for the needs and interests of Aboriginal people in community (Tiwi) within organisational or governmental decision-making processes e.g. Land Councils member, regional council elected member etc. The ability to speak and/or understand Tiwi language (accreditation is desired). The successful candidate will also demonstrate or hold the following mandatory requirements: Criminal history check. Working with Children (Ochre) Card required if working with schools or other vulnerable people – acquired through Safe NT. Valid NT driver's license.
