The College has a student population of approximately 2100, with 180 (EFT) teaching staff, 70 (EFT) Education Support Staff, and 7 Principal Class personnel.
The SFOE for the College is 0.58, indicating a significant level of social disadvantage.
The College is culturally diverse, with approximately 60% of students coming from a Language Background other than English.

This role focuses on supporting students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD), particularly Horn of Africa students and families.
The successful applicant should speak the language and have experience with Horn of Africa culture.This involves developing and facilitating engagement strategies and programs, liaising with staff, parents, and external service providers, and providing individual support to students and their families to maximize educational outcomes and increase student attendance and engagement.- A valid Working with Children Check is required.ResponsibilitiesSupport identified students to engage in education and strengthen their attendance.Develop, implement, and evaluate strength-based intervention strategies/programs, including facilitating groups and school activities to support identified students to access the school curriculum and engage in schooling.Strengthen the connections between the school and different cultural groups within the College community.Liaise effectively with external service providers and assist teachers, students, and their families to access these services, including careers and pathways options.Translation and explanation through personal contact regarding school communications and events.Work with the wellbeing team to develop culturally sensitive programs, including healthy eating and exercise.Assist in strengthening the connections of families to college events and other college community engagement initiatives, e.g., parent/teacher evenings and information evenings.Plan and facilitate community and school-based activities, including during lunch and after school times.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.EEO AND OHS CommitmentApplicants seeking part-time employment are encouraged to apply for any teaching service position and, if successful, request a reduced time fraction.
