Coordinator, Communications and EngagementPosition Number: 0057260Location: ParkvilleRole type: Full-time; ContinuingDepartment: Student and Scholarly ServicesSalary: UOM 7 – $106,432 – $115,211 p.a. plus 17% superOpportunity to flex your creative and writing skills to drive student connection and belonging at Australia's #1 ranked university.Coordinate and deliver engaging communications to enhance awareness and participation in key Student Life initiatives.Drives impactful, relevant and creative communications for student and academic audiences.Brilliant benefits and a flexible hybrid work environment!About the RoleThe Coordinator, Communications and Engagement supports key Student Life initiatives, including Peer Mentoring, Academic Mentoring, and Melbourne Plus, by creating engaging and relevant communications for students and staff. Collaborating with teams across the University, the role plans, develops, and delivers targeted content to enhance program awareness and engagement through events, campaigns, video and digital platforms. Additionally, the role ensures alignment with broader student communications strategies.Your responsibilities will include:Plan, develop and implement relevant student- and staff-facing communications and engagement activities, encouraging high levels of engagement with Academic Mentoring, Peer Mentoring and Melbourne Plus.Develop creative and impactful student- and staff-facing communications and activities that increase awareness, positive sentiment, understanding and engagement with the programs.Support with scheduling, delivering and maintaining program content across all digital platforms, including social media, webpages and internal portals, and identify opportunities for greater alignment across Student Life initiatives.Ensure all Student Life communications and engagement initiatives are strategically aligned and relevant. Engage with the Associate Director, Academic Mentoring and academics to produce dynamic content to support engagement.Who we are looking forThe ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, flexible, and driven, with strong organisational and project management skills. They excel in working autonomously and within a team, managing stakeholders effectively, and maintaining attention to detail to deliver the best outcomes for students.You will also have:A degree with substantial relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training/creative portfolio.Proven ability to use a range of communication channels, including digital media and technologies.Demonstrated experience creating, planning and supporting the end-to-end delivery of events, contests, activations, speaker panels and other activities that will resonate with key audiences.Results-focussed with the ability to apply adaptive reasoning, sound judgement and critical thinking, escalating issues as appropriate and identifying trends and issues for exceptional program/service delivery.For further information regarding responsibilities and requirements please refer to the attached PD.This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
