Modelling open decision making, we provide a supportive and collaborative environment where employees feel engaged and connected to the work of the organisation, to each other, and the community.The Role: Community InspectorWe are looking for a pool of Community Inspectors to join our Regulatory Services team on a casual basis.The successful candidates will primarily deliver improved community compliance with local laws, through education, advocacy and enforcements of Acts, Regulations, By-laws and Council Policies to uplift and maintain community safety.What You'll Be DoingInterpret and apply Acts, By-laws and Policies including relating to animal management, parking control and other relevant compliance areas.Undertake investigations to compile briefs and reports across Regulatory Services matters.Provide high level advice and recommendations through interpretation of legislation, education and awareness programs, and ongoing support to the community.Accurate and timely response to customer related enquiries through various forms of correspondence.Identify hazards and implement safety protocols, to ensure a safe system of work.What You'll Bring To Our TeamThe successful applicant will hold a Certificate IV in Regulatory Services or equivalent demonstrated experience in a Regulatory Service, Security or Enforcement environment.In Addition You Will HaveA comprehensive working knowledge in interpretation of relevant Acts, By-laws and Legislation.High level interpersonal, customer service and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholder groups.Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.Passion for public service, community safety and compliance in the local community.Local government experience would be an added bonus but not essential!What's In It For YouOur team work hard together, but also celebrate together, learn together, and support each other.
