Department of Human ServicesJob reference: 619725Location: 5000 - ADELAIDEJob status: CasualEligibility: Open to EveryoneRole Highlights Convenient CBD locationFlexible working arrangements availableVibrant, committed and supportive teamAbout the Business The Office for Women works across government and community towards achieving gender equity and positive change for women in South Australia by developing policy and advising on issues affecting women to improve their safety, wellbeing and economic security.Role DetailsThe Community Information Worker is a role within the Office for Women and is accountable to the Coordinator, Women's Information Service for:Providing high quality information, referral, and support to women, including information on a broad range of services, facilities, and programs.Providing services that are sensitive to women's cultural, lifestyle, economic, health and geographical needs.Providing support to volunteers of the Women's Information Service.Assisting with the day-to-day administration and operation of the service.Key outcomes and accountabilities:Respond in a prompt and courteous manner to telephone, email, and face to face enquiries from clients and requests of support from volunteers.Assist women to access WIS programs and services as required including taking bookings and recording details of clients requests as required.Contribute and maintain information resources in the WIS shopfront and daily recording of client statistics onto records management systems.As required, maintain, and review social media pertaining to WIS and the Office for Women.Respectfully interact with people from a diverse range of background and experiences in the community as well as maintain positive working relationship with volunteers and staff.Provide guidance and support to volunteers to assist them undertake their duties in the WIS Shopfront and Phone room.Understand and follow the principles and practices of the Information Sharing Guidelines for Promoting Safety and Wellbeing (ISG) and the DHS Appendix to the ISG to facilitate appropriate information sharing practice within the context of this department.Special ConditionsNational Police Check required.Employment-related Screening Check required.
Knowledge, experience and understanding of the range of services available to assist SA women with diverse needs, expectations and requirements of working in a government environment and working with complex issues and challenging behaviours is desirable.
