Centacare Community Services is part of the social services arm of the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane and has been operating for over 50 years. With over 1600 employees across South East Queensland, we value our employees and believe they are the heart of our organisation.As a Community Housing Officer, you will play a crucial role in assisting families and individuals in maintaining their housing and supporting those facing homelessness. Our services are focused on residents of the Fraser Coast, Bundaberg, and Kingaroy Regional Council areas.Key Responsibilities:Support individuals with complex needs to address homelessness or maintain their tenancy through a case management framework.Conduct intake assessments for new clients.Promote independent living skills and facilitate choice for clients.Collect and report client data using an electronic database.Liaise with community and government agencies, as well as real estate agencies, as part of your case management.Ensure compliance with legislative guidelines and internal procedures.Travel across the Fraser Coast, South and North Burnett, and Wide Bay regions may be required.Skills and Experience:Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.Commitment to a person-centred approach in service provision.Essential Requirements:Qualification in Community Services, Mental Health, Social Housing, or relevant experience in the community sector.Experience in accommodation services or real estate is highly regarded.Understanding of the Housing framework or the willingness to learn.Current QLD Driver's License.A National Police Certificate.A Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.Benefits:Competitive hourly rate starting at $65,635.96 pa ($33.21/hr) or higher, based on qualifications and experience.Ongoing support for your professional development.Opportunities for career and personal growth.Access to role-specific training.Free employee assistance program for you and your family.How to apply:If you are ready to make a difference and contribute to our mission, and meet the qualifications outlined, we invite you to apply for this role.Click APPLY and submit a cover letter that clearly addresses the above-listed skills, experience and essential criteria, as well as a copy of your current résumé.
