Sunday Worship Services, Community Support and Emergency Relief, Thrift Shop engagement, and small groups).About the roleWe are seeking a values-driven and proactive Community Engagement Worker, at our North Rockhampton location.
Reporting to the Corps Officers, this is a permanent, part-time position offering 15 hours per week.Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 3.You will successfullyLead and facilitate programs and activities that meet mission intentions to engage community, supporting those most in need.Get alongside and seek to encourage, equip and empower people in crisis through engagement in the Capricorn Region Cluster Salvos community activities and referrals to The Salvation Army and other community service partners.Identify, explore and develop opportunities that are relevant to and based on identified community needs and work within TSA's mission and values.Help identify possible funding opportunities and work with Corps Officers and the TSA Fundraising team in grant applications.Ensure volunteers are effectively engaged with programs and compliance requirements are met in line with TSA policy and procedures, as well as any legislative requirements.You will have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications)Tertiary qualifications in Community Services/Social Work – minimum certificate level, or relevant experience.Experience in community engagement on behalf of a religious institution or not-for-profit organization.Demonstrated experience in developing and running community-based activities.Desirable is Mental Health First aid and Trauma Informed Care training.A current Qld Drivers licence.WWCC card.Additional hours, as agreed in advance and in line with the Award requirements, may be required mid November – December to support Christmas Appeal.What we offerAs a registered NFP we offer our eligible employees real and meaningful benefits such as:NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefit ($2,650).Flexible working conditions.Health, fitness and financial discounts / benefits.Paid parental leave - 12 weeks.Up to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave scheme.Up to 5 days paid leave per year to 'volunteer' in a TSA program or activity.Purpose driven career which has positive social and sustainable outcomes.Employee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling service.Opportunity for career development.An inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team members.Positively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contribution.The Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer who provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people.
