RA Tas is committed to improving the lives of Tasmanians through its range of community-based programs. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Suicide Prevention Team. As a Community Engagement Officer, you will play a vital role in leveraging your established relationships with local communities to develop and implement effective suicide prevention strategies. You will work closely with local networks and stakeholders to facilitate the creation of Community Action Plans (CAPs) and ensure their ongoing success. This is a fixed term position that will end on June 30, 2025. We are looking for someone to work full-time, but we are open to discussing flexible arrangements with the right candidate. The location of this role can be either Launceston or Hobart based.Key Responsibilities:Outreach and engagement with local communities to introduce the CAP programSupporting communities in the readiness building process for CAP completionFacilitating CAP development from initial stages through to endorsementCollaborating with the Suicide Prevention team to host annual eventsRepresenting RA Tas at meetings and eventsEnsuring administrative and reporting requirements are metDo you fit the Bill:Existing connections with a range of local communitiesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsExperience in community engagement or outreachUnderstanding of suicide prevention initiatives specifically Community Action PlansAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPassion for suicide prevention and mental healthKnowledge of the Tasmanian community landscape (preferred)Benefits:Based in either Launceston or HobartSalary starting from $87,017.69 to $94,867.70 + Super / *Pro-rataAdditional PAID leave days (up to 5 per year *pro-rata)Up to 4 weeks extra Leave per year through our purchased leave schemeSalary packaging options (up to $15,900 General Living Expenses and $2,650 Entertainment Benefits TAX FREE each FB year)Discounted corporate health insuranceIndividual workplace flexibility optionsIndustry best practice Supervision to support you in your professional journeyOngoing Professional DevelopmentEmployee Assistance ServicesSkills and Experiences: If you would like to find out more about this opportunity, read the Position Description and contact Tamara Speed, Manager Organisation and Community Development, on .
