The Opportunity 
The Community Engagement Officer plays a crucial role in fostering positive connections between Council and the Community. You will assist the Community and Cultural Services Coordinator by engaging with community members and encouraging participation in programs and initiatives that add engagement and liveability value to the Region.
Utilising your strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills, you will establish effective mechanisms to ensure that community voices are heard, needs are addressed, and partnerships are built. You will be confident working collaboratively with a diverse range of people and stakeholders, so you are positioned to identify opportunities and provide an effective link between Council and various community stakeholders. 
To be successful, you will demonstrate personal attributes that are consistent with Councils values of Integrity, People Focused, Excellence and Sustainability and you will possess the following: 
Skills and Qualifications:  Demonstrated experience in the delivery of community development and/or community engagement related projects and events highly desirable;  Demonstrated ability to bring about partnerships between various Government agencies, business and community groups;  Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently;  Highly developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences; Sound knowledge of project management principles, project planning and strong organisational skills; and Well-developed computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office products. What Council Offers:  58-hour fortnight with roster variations depending on the position Up to 12.5% Superannuation employer contribution for contributing members  5 weeks annual leave (prorata) plus 17.5% annual leave loading  15 days paid sick/parental leave (prorata)  Salary Packaging options  Employee Assistance Program (EAP)  Accredited Mental Health First Aid Officers  Annual Flu vaccinations + Skin Checks Corporate Uniforms (annual allowance) and PPE supplied  General Salary Information 
Level 3 $56,072 -$60,296 per annum plus superannuation. 
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Pre-employment screening includes Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and Criminal History Checks to ensure capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
