Holyoake is a leading provider of counselling, support and prevention services for people impacted directly and indirectly by alcohol, other drugs, and related mental health issues. We operate through five locations in WA - Victoria Park, Midland, Northam, Narrogin and Merredin, and employ over 100 staff.We are inviting applications from suitably skilled individuals to fill the role of Community Engagement Officer in Bunbury as part of the established state-wide Community AOD Prevention Service which operates across the Kimberley, Goldfields, Great Southern, South-West and Mid-West regions. This position is offered on a part-time basis (0.6 FTE / 3 days per week) on a 12 month contract. A tertiary qualification in Health Promotion, Education, Social Science or equivalent is required.This is a great opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive team environment that incorporates a level of autonomy.This position takes a lead role to facilitate the establishment of 'grassroots' AOD Community Response Committees which will develop and implement evidence based AOD prevention activities within their local community.This role requires liaising with government and non-government agencies, professionals and community groups regarding AOD prevention initiatives throughout the South West region.Key responsibilities:Take a lead role in providing support to community groups to work at a local level to address identified AOD issues.Facilitate the development of appropriate partnerships to target AOD prevention at a local, community and regional level.Work in partnership with relevant government and non-government service providers and community groups to ensure collaborative coordination of activities to address identified localised AOD prevention needs.Engage with stakeholders and community members to promote and facilitate the establishment of grassroots committees to drive prevention activity.This position will be supported by Holyoake's Team Leader for the AOD Community Prevention Service.Holyoake is committed to developing employees and provides a flexible and supportive working environment.
