What are some example projects or experiences?Community engagement officers are the face of rail organisations during key projects.
They work with project teams to identify community impacts and find ways to reduce them wherever possible.
They also prepare and distribute important information to the public, and answer questions or take feedback from people in the community.
What is the work environment like?Sometimes you'll be in the office, developing stakeholder engagement plans and policies.
You may also write communications, coordinate events, and engage with people in the community by phone or email.
Sometimes you'll attend meetings or workshops with other business areas or project teams to develop strategies and support planning.
Community engagement officers also spend time out of the office meeting with external stakeholders.
Travel may be required.
You can find work as a community engagement officer all around Australia.
Most jobs are in cities and towns.
Some are in remote areas.
QualificationsCommunity engagement officers usually have qualifications in marketing, event management, social work or fundraising.
