About Us As an evidence-informed community support organisation, Fortem Australia provides Australia's emergency service and national security families (working as employees or volunteers) with comprehensive and integrated wellbeing support.
In short, our mission is to support the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and their families – the people who protect and care for our communities.
This part-time role (3 days per week) will be based in Adelaide and is completely remote.
This role will be a 12-month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension.
In this role, you will support the success of Fortem through the coordination, design, and delivery of social connection activities and wellness support programs to Australia's national security and first responder personnel and their families.
This includes travelling throughout the region to engage with Fortem Australia stakeholders and being the subject matter expert and point of contact for the local community and service providers.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) What you will be doing: Participate in Fortem Australia run events and relevant external industry events to enhance Fortem's reputation in the first responder sector.
Present on behalf of Fortem Australia at relevant and approved events such as conferences, seminars, forums, disaster affected areas, and network meetings relevant to the first responder sector in your region.
Coordination and Engagement with local volunteers and ambassadors.
Regularly engage with local governments and councils.
Attend and participate in various local government events, fairs, and community days.
Facilitate access to the program for current and potential participants by ensuring there is consistent, accurate, clear, and timely communication about the program available via multiple means e.g.
website, newsletters, emails.
Actively seek and utilise local government contacts, facilities, and resources in the delivery of services.
What the role requires: Excellent attention to detail and administration skills.
Intermediate or above level of competency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with individuals and groups from a variety of backgrounds.
Experience or knowledge of the national security and first responder sectors.
2 to 4 years experience in the delivery of community engagement and/or wellness services, and/or the areas of relevant research or preventative wellness programs.
Working with children check or your state's equivalent.
