About The Role The Community Engagement Advisor plays a critical role in ensuring that our council engages effectively with the community.
This position is designed for a subject matter expert who will lead community engagement initiatives, empower residents to participate in civic life, and inform decision-making processes within the council.
As a vital member of the Communication & Engagement Unit, you will provide strategic advice and support to enhance stakeholder engagement and contribute to the overall success of our community-focused projects.
Who We are Looking For We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in community engagement and communications.
Degree in Communications or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Proven experience in community and stakeholder engagement roles.
Strong understanding of community engagement methodologies and the ability to develop effective strategies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to tailor approaches to diverse stakeholder groups.
Certification with the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).
The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who can build productive relationships and promote a culture of collaboration and respect.

Hours of work: Temporary Full-Time 35 hours per week with option of 19-day month with flex-time arrangement.
