Community Engagement Advisor

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Community Engagement Advisor to support our mission of enhancing community participation in civic life and informing our decision-making. In this role, you will lead community engagement planning, provide strategic advice, and support our diverse business units with effective communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the implementation of community engagement projects, ensuring alignment with our Engagement Strategy Framework.Provide strategic advice and support for engagement initiatives across the organisation.Develop, deliver, and measure stakeholder engagement strategies that connect with diverse community groups.Collaborate with the Communication & Engagement team to optimise stakeholder interactions and relationships.Support continuous improvement efforts within the team and manage risks associated with community engagement activities.Essential Qualifications: A degree in Communications or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.Certification with the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).A current NSW Driver's Licence.Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in community or stakeholder engagement roles.Proven ability to develop, deliver, and measure community engagement strategies.Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.Superior time management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.Strong decision-making skills and goal-oriented focus.Excellent operational planning and critical thinking abilities.Superior communication skills, capable of simplifying complex issues for diverse audiences.Ability to work collaboratively and mentor team members.Desirable Attributes: Experience within a government environment.Background in working with communications or marketing teams.First Aid certification.Applications will be reviewed from Jan 6 and interviews will be held the second week of January.
