Details: Are you community minded?Do you like educating others in a fun and interactive way?The ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT State Emergency Service are looking for a skilled and motivated Community Education and Engagement Officer - Administrative Services Officer Grade 5 (ASO5).This position reports to the Chief Officer ACTRFS, and under general direction will assist with the development, administration and review of engagement tools, resources and programs that can be implemented throughout the ACT for community engagement activities.You will contribute to the delivery of the Strategic Bushfire Management Plan (SBMP) by assisting with the implementation of community education and engagement activities.A key element of this role is to develop and maintain professional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders (such as volunteers, community organisations, ESA Business Units and other areas of government) to provide timely advice and achieve effective, sustainable and optimum service delivery.The Community Education and Engagement Officer position will also contribute to the development and implementation of ESA strategies and frameworks aimed at ensuring research outcomes are effectively utilised throughout the ACT.The ACT Public Service supports workforce diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.As part of this commitment, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, culturally diverse people and those who identify as LGBTIQ are encouraged to apply.Eligibility/Other requirements: This position requires an ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration.Background and Security clearance checks will be conducted including National Police Records Check.A minimum of a C class ACT drivers' licence.A fitness test may be required if performing fireground activities.This position may be required to work after hours and at weekends, including attending meetings, local Unit andBrigade visits through periods of operational response.Participation in the Duty Officer roster in either Service may also be required.Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
