Administration Officer - Building and Plumbing Cutoff: 2 May 2024
The group comprises the Building and Plumbing, Environmental Health and City Ranger teams. Each team provides a wide range of functions to the community including the issue of permits, licences and approvals to carry out works, and infringements for non-compliance with various legislation.
The group objectives align with our council's vision and purpose, to respond to community needs and to provide for the health safety and welfare of the community, in a vibrant, prosperous and sustainable city.
ABOUT YOU Demonstrable understanding of office procedures and practices, including the ability to acquire and apply knowledge relevant to the role.Excellent customer service skills and the ability to apply the principles of the organisation's customer services framework to all activities.Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills, and the capability to apply those skills across a broad range internal and external customer interaction.Initiative and problem-solving skills and demonstrated experience applying these skills across a broad range of circumstances in an administrative role.Effective time management and organisational skills.An ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute toward team outcomes.WHAT WE OFFER YOU The role is ongoing and full-time. A base salary between $64,227.91 and $71,088.82 will be negotiated with the preferred candidate + 12.5% superannuation and a 19-day month. A guaranteed 2.5% salary increase applies to this salary (or CPI) in July 2024.

ABOUT YOU You need to be a fast starter, able to get up to speed quickly, and love working across multiple disciplines contributing to projects, programs and strategies. With a tertiary qualification in economic development or experience in a similar role, your research skills will be well honed, allowing your strategic thinking to deliver informed and considered positions on issues and opportunities.
One of your key skills is your ability to write about complex concepts in plain English allowing non-specialists to understand your summary interpretations.
Overall, you value collaborating with others, building strong relationships and working as a team.
WHAT WE OFFER YOU A base salary between $87,061 and $94,326 (pro-rata) will be negotiated with the preferred candidate + 11% superannuation and a 19-day month. A guaranteed 2.5% salary increase applies to this salary (or CPI) in July 2024.

We are looking for a person with knowledge and experience in the disability sector to focus on Access and Inclusion and a person with knowledge and experience in the drivers behind anti-social and illegal behaviours, at a community level, to focus on Community Wellbeing and Safety.

ABOUT YOU Tertiary qualifications or Diploma in community services, social or behavioural sciences, social work or another relevant field, and/or equivalent experience working in these areas, particularly with vulnerable cohorts in a community setting.Capacity to lead and inspire others to embrace diversity and inclusion as core values, together with a well-developed understanding and experience of community development principles, engagement and community participation.Relevant experience in program coordination and partnership development, together with highly developed facilitation skills. This includes the ability to recognise who you need to 'bring to the table' to support projects/programs.Demonstrated skills and experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic plans and policies at the local level, or capacity to acquire these skills.WHAT WE OFFER YOU The positions are full-time and ongoing. A base salary between $81,424 and $91,878 will be offered to the preferred candidates + 12.5% superannuation and a 19-day month. A guaranteed 2.5% salary increase applies to this salary (or CPI) in July 2024.
