The Community Safety & Support Services team is looking for an individual to join us who; Is enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated to creating positive community change Has experience building community connections specifically engaging with diverse and vulnerable groups ie; LGBTIQA+, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) and socially isolated individuals.
Will bring experience in the development and delivery of community programs, initiatives and events aimed to enhance community connections and build community capacity.
Is self-motivated and thrives working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast past environment Enjoys internal and external networking and developing community partnerships Supports community spirit and possesses well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
As a key member of the Community Safety and Support Services team, you will be responsible for leading initiatives and projects focussed on diverse population groups ie; LGBTIQA+, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) and socially isolated individuals.
You will identify, guide, support and assist community groups, organisations and individuals to build their capacity and resilience through the provision of training, resources, events and programs.
The team is guided by the Community Safety and Support Services Strategy 2022-2027 which provides a vision for our priority of work related to community safety, homelessness, domestic and family violence, substance misuse, mental health, community connection, social isolation and at risk behaviours.
To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application process: Extensive knowledge of issues related to diverse and vulnerable populations in particular CaLD, LGBTIQA+ and socially isolated, who be experiencing adversities such as mental health, homelessness, social isolation, family domestic violence, substance misuse Sound experience to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate community projects/events focused on building capacity, increasing engagement and community connection with diverse and vulnerable populations High level of communication and networking skills including the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships Well-developed written and presentation skills with ability to prepare written reports, submissions, applications, presentations and correspondence, all to a high standard Demonstrated experience in identifying stakeholders, community consultation and engagement with community groups, organisations and individuals, specifically related to diverse, marginalised and/or vulnerable populations experiencing adversity Degree in Community Development, Social Science or related field, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience Based on experience, we are offering a gross salary range of $82,627 – $87,497 per annum, and: 11.5% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5% A variety of health and wellbeing programs including a physical health reimbursement subsidy payment of up to $150 per annum, free flu vaccinations, free skin cancer checks, mental health programs and Employee Assistance Provider (EAP) services Flexible working arrangements, including rostered days off and two additional paid days of absence per annum A culture of learning with training/development opportunities including paid study leave and study fees Salary packaging opportunities for motor vehicles, etc.
