Your Opportunity As part of Mission Australia Housing, this role will be responsible for building relationships and partnerships with community members and stakeholders across the NT area.
This role will work closely with Tenancy, Asset and Support Teams to provide an integrated service delivery approach.
This is an identified position under section 14(D) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and all applicants must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Australians.
Being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational qualification.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Develop and implement community development programs, workshops and events that align with national strategy and local plan Act as a liaison between the community, local government and other stakeholders to advocate for cultural initiatives Develop and source culturally appropriate resources to assist clients in engaging with the community to meet immediate and long-term needs Coordinate tenant communications with local operations team and contribute to developing and implementing strategies Lead the community and stakeholder to develop end-to-end engagement plans and monitor the progress and outcomes Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver positive outcomes within the framework of integrated service delivery Requirements for Success Tertiary qualification with 1 year of experience or minimum 2 years of experience in the community development sector Demonstrated understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CaLD and other communities Demonstrated ability to act with initiative and create solutions to presenting programs that meet a range of stakeholders' need Strong ability to build relationships and having working knowledge of NT communities Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including highly developed administrative and computer skills Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
