We are currently seeking a Community Coordinator to join our Pathways & Capacity Unit. This key role will support our mission by ensuring animals spend as little time as possible in shelter, reducing the number of animals requiring RSPCA care, and exploring every avenue to keep pets and their people together. This role is being offered at 0.6 or 0.8  Key Responsibilities: As the Community Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the movement of animals to adoption partners, including working with adoption partners like Petbarn and other rescue groups to find suitable placements for animals. You will also manage outreach programs to support pet owners and facilitate the rehoming of animals. As part of the Pathways & Capacity team the role may also support our Foster program. 
Key duties include:
Oversight of Animal Transfers to Adoption Partners Collaborate with Animal Operations and Commercial teams to ensure a steady flow of animals to adoption partners, prioritizing as animals become available. Manage a small team of volunteer drivers to transport animals to adoption partners in a timely manner. Plan and execute pop-up adoption events in collaboration with the Commercial team, and oversee logistics. Foster and maintain strong relationships with other rescue groups to expand our network of adoption partners.Support for People and Pets Staying Together  Assist in the delivery of community outreach programs, , aimed at keeping pets in their homes. Develop and maintain a best-practice process for handling pet surrender requests, working with individuals to find alternatives and support. Manage and update the rehoming list, ensuring timely placement of animals.Support to the Pathways & Capacity Team Coordinate initiatives that improve the foster system, including pick-up/drop-off services for foster animals and enhancing adoption success rates from foster care. Manage relationships with external boarding partners and facilitate the movement of animals to and from boarding facilities. Assist the Pathways & Capacity Manager during large-scale intakes of animals, such as from seizures or natural disasters. About You: To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within animal welfare or rescue organisations. Experience working with volunteers and managing teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, volunteers, and external partners. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and contribute positively to a team culture. Other Requirements  A current driver's license (manual preferred) and access to reliable transport. Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings as required. Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards and practices.What We Offer  An opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of animals and people in our community. A collaborative and supportive work environment. Ongoing professional development opportunities. A chance to be part of a leading organisation in the animal welfare sector.How to Apply If you are passionate about animal welfare and have the skills to support our Pathways & Capacity Unit, we'd love to hear from you.
