This is a full-time, permanent residential position living and working in Alice Springs, Central Australia. We are managing a national talent search and relocation assistance will be available for the successful candidate, where applicable.
Tangentyere Council Aboriginal Corporation (TCAC) is a community-controlled Public Benevolent Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the benefit of Aboriginal people from the Alice Springs Town Camps, Urban Alice Springs, and Central Australia.
The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for managing the financial affairs and the development and implementation of financial strategies, policies, and plans to ensure the continuing financial health of the Tangentyere Group and affiliated entities.
As part of the leadership team, you will ensure a best practice policy and have demonstrated knowledge drawn from both your tertiary study in either accounting or commerce and extensive experience working at this level in a similar role that enables the provision of authoritative advice in the areas of your role responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of corporate and government financial systems and relationships, along with superior management and organisational skills and a proven track record reporting into Boards and Government Bodies.
You will hold a current CA or CPA and have high-level financial literacy with the ability to prepare and interpret financial reports and manage budgets, along with experience in all aspects of organisational Financial Management.
In addition, you will have highly developed analytical skills and knowledge of business processes, systems, and products, possessing the ability to develop and implement relevant policies and procedures to meet the needs of the organisation. Previous experience managing financial operations within an Indigenous organisation is highly desirable.
